GROUP 25: Music Video 2007/8

Monday, 12 November 2007

It was hard but this is how we did it!

This is a screen shot of final cut express as we were editing.

There were many steps in creating our project. Firstly we laid it out in order so we knew what was going where. This involved a lot of switching around footage and making sure it was in time with the music. We also got id of a lot of the footage as it was absolute Kak!

Then we got onto the tricky part of adding effects and living up to our RAINBOW GASM ways. We made some of our shots into blank flashing rainbow colours as we felt that the footage was just wrong for this project. We also VAMPED up the colours and made them more bold and exciting as it would be boring if the characters weren't interestng.

Unluckily enough we did not have enough time but I think we did well for the time that we had. There are some patches where it looks a little empty and rubbish! aka....

Peace outt

Feedback

Here is some of the feedback we have received from other groups:

Positive
  • the way the visuals changed in time with the audio changes was good
  • the visuals are happy, just like the song
  • lip synching was good
  • the way the frames were divided up, so there was always more than one thing going on at any time
  • wide variety of effects, helped move the video along
  • look of the video, fits with the genre, e.g brightness
  • good wide range of different performers
  • beginnig and end were worked well
  • large range of different shots

Constructive

  • perhaps more singers were needed
  • could have filled up the frame better in certain shots instead of having large black parts

YEYYYY

Finito!

We have finished our music video and we saw it at the Arts Picture House! Was amazzzzing and we totally had an awesome time!
Some of the music videos were sooo good yet some were very similar, I noticed that many of the videos included the same shot e.g the "indie" videos all included a close up shot of someone playing the guitar and nearly all of the rapping videos used the same scenery too, they all used the same wall with grafitti. I'm not having a bitch it's just an observation ;)

Hooray to Ricky who put it all together for us! Bless him, he can be our team mascot again :P
